The role focuses on supporting internal departments, clients, and advancing the company’s technical and engineering capabilities through product and process improvements. Main Duties and Responsibilities Leadership and Coordination Provide engineering and design leadership to the Design Office team. Attend cross-departmental progress reviews to maintain strong communications with other teams. Manage the completion of design office tasks within agreed timelines. Review and approve engineering drawings for production release. Ensure design office deliverables conform to project specifications and customer requirements. Technical Support Support the Projects and Production teams by delivering engineering drawings and assembly part lists/BOMs for blowers and packages. Attend kick-off meetings and proposal or technical clarification discussions as needed. Develop and manage a SolidWorks parts library and drawing documentation filing system. Drive design processes to streamline front-end and detailed design operations. Innovation and Development Lead efforts in new product development and standardization initiatives. Manage and execute R&D projects to enhance technical capabilities. Run FEA studies and utilize insights to inform design decisions. Compliance and Quality Support health and safety initiatives with risk assessments and method statements for design activities. Person Specification Education Essential: Mechanical Engineering Apprenticeship/Degree or demonstrable equivalent experience. Knowledge and Experience Essential: Experience in a technical engineering environment and leading a design/engineering team. Knowledge of rotary equipment (e.g., pumps, compressors) and manufacturing processes. Proficiency in 2D/3D CAD tools and experience with spreadsheets for design calculations. Understanding of API, ISO, and PED standards. Desirable: Experience in machine performance testing, R&D projects, and FEA studies. Familiarity with anti-friction ball/roller bearings and various seal types. Ability to evaluate production costs and schedules.
