A well-established, family-run business based in Newmarket, offering a friendly and supportive working environment and looking for an enthusiastic Accounts Assistant to join the team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is detail-oriented, organised, and ready to take on a varied role within a close-knit team, while working closely with the Managing Director.
Key Responsibilities:

Sales Ledger Management: Processing and posting sales invoices, ensuring all customer payments are accurately recorded. •
Purchase Ledger Maintenance: Processing supplier invoices, managing payments, and ensuring timely reconciliation of accounts. •
Credit Control: Monitoring outstanding balances, chasing overdue payments, and maintaining customer relationships through effective credit management. •
Expense Reconciliation: Managing staff expenses, ensuring receipts are submitted and coded correctly, and processing reimbursements. •
General Accounting Support: Assisting with month-end closing, bank reconciliations, and other ad hoc financial tasks as required. •
Administrative Duties: Supporting the finance team with filing, data entry, and general office duties when needed.
Key Skills & Requirements:
•
Proven experience in a similar Accounts Assistant role. •
Solid understanding of sales ledger, purchase ledger, and credit control processes. •
High level of accuracy and attention to detail. •
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively. •
Proficiency in accounting software •
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. •
A proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to work independently.
