We currently have a 14 month Fixed Term opportunity for a Sales and Purchase Ledger Manager to join our busy Finance team. This is a pivotal role managing the Accounts R eceivable and Accounts Payable function and supporting the Order to Cash Process and Procure to Pay Process. The role is based from our York office and benefits from the flexibility of Hybrid working with 3 days in our modern, well appointed office, working collaboratively with our friendly, high performing team. The Sales and Purchase Ledger Manager will report to the Director of Finance and will lead a team of 1 Sales Ledger Assistant and 3 Purchase Ledger Assistants. You will ensure deadlines are met and work is delivered to a high standard, whilst seeking continuous improvement to controls and procedures. The Sales and Purchase Ledger Manager and team will work closely with the wider finance and project team by maintaining accurate data, schedules, analysis, and ensuring systems are updated in a timely and accurate manner. Key Responsibilities: Customer Invoice processing Cash Receipt Management Credit Control management: manage and drive the credit control function for all debtors, ensuring minimal financial risk to the business Sales Ledger Controls and Reporting Supplier Invoice processing. Ensure the accurate and timely entry and matching/authorization of invoices onto the Purchase Ledger Expense management, manage timely processing of the expenses process and review and act as second-line responder for expenses outside of policy Payment Management - Weekly Payment run for expenses, Priority Payment/One-off Payment, Virtual card transactions and record Direct Debit transactions Supplier management, ensuring minimal financial and operational risk to the business Purchase Ledger Controls and Reporting. Perform Purchase Ledger Monthly Close and generate and analyse aged creditors reports, open commitments for month-end close purpose. Timesheet Management Align policies, procedures, processes and database across the organization Assist in the migration process for a new ERP system Assist in the year-end accounts closure & annual audit process Lead, monitor and develop team members Ad hoc support to wider Finance and Project teams Part qualified ACCA/CIMA/AAT with significant experience in Sales Ledger function ideally from an engineering environment and/or project centric organization Excellent communication skills across a variety of stakeholders ie from customer to non-financial stakeholders, in particular, commercial teams and project teams Strong analytical skills and ability to perform customer analysis and reconciliations Strong understanding of system functionality, master data setup and best practice Strong IT skills including advanced Excel, Microsoft and experience using ERP System ideally IFS Ability to work in a busy environment and a commitment to meet tight deadlines Excellent team player with strong written and verbal communication skills Why SYSTRA?
