Job Summary:
As the Leisure Club Supervisor, you will be responsible for supporting the manager with the daily operations of the leisure club, deputising in their absence, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for both members and staff. You will be a key point of contact for members, provide exceptional customer service, and support the development and management of team members. The role requires a hands-on approach to maintaining high operational standards, motivating staff, and ensuring all health and safety guidelines are met.
Key Responsibilities:
* Support in the management of day-to-day operations of the leisure club, ensuring smooth running of all facilities.
* Lead, motivate, and develop the team of fitness staff, reception, and other staff members.
* Provide excellent customer service, addressing member queries, concerns, and feedback promptly and professionally.
* Ensure that health and safety regulations are followed and that the club is always clean, organised, and safe.
* Monitor the condition of equipment and facilities, arranging for regular maintenance and repairs as needed.
* Assist in managing bookings, membership renewals, and payment processing.
* Oversee staff schedules and ensure appropriate coverage at all times, in the absence of the manager.
* Help develop and implement promotional activities, events, and member engagement initiatives.
* Ensure compliance with company policies, including those related to health and safety, safeguarding, and customer service.
Skills and Experience:
* Previous supervisory experience within the leisure, hospitality, or fitness industry is preferred, although not essential. Candidates with extensive industry experience will be considered.
* Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop a team.
* Excellent customer service and communication skills.
* Knowledge of health and safety procedures and regulations within a leisure or fitness environment.
* Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritise effectively.
* Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to resolving issues.
* A passion for health, fitness, and wellness.
* Basic IT skills (Microsoft Office, booking systems, etc.).
Qualifications:
* Fitness Level 2 and/or higher is essential.
* First Aid and/or Pool Rescue qualification is a plus.
* Health and Safety certification is an advantage.
