PLAY A VITAL ROLE IN OUR NETWORK PERFORMANCE
Our Network Performance teams are responsible for reviewing how our network runs, understanding faults, and making changes to avoid them. Grow your potential as a Technical Administrator and join them in reviewing aspects of unavailability whilst earning £27,000!
Make things happen
As an apprentice, you'll get involved in areas across the department, gaining an understanding of Network Performance as a whole. You could be involved in change requests, managing relationships with key partners, or identifying and investigating poor network management. By the end, you'll be able to identify your most interesting areas and spend more time growing your knowledge in those.
Day-to-day, you could be:
1. Ensuring faults, change, and monitoring responsibilities are discharged in line with specified procedures, targets, and measures.
2. Identifying ongoing issues or blockers that prevent us from achieving targets and collaborating on initiatives to address these.
3. Producing and building reports to share with senior management on targets, change requests, demands, and more.
Who we are
The UK's fastest broadband network. The nation's best-loved mobile brand. Together, we offer the UK more choice and better value, through our boundary-pushing, customer-championing values and ambitions. Together, we are Virgin Media O2, and we can't wait to see what you can do.
The must haves
We're looking for passionate individuals who have a real interest in expanding their technical knowledge through real-world experience.
The other stuff we are looking for
There are times when you'll need to help other members of the team to meet timelines, so the ability to work well as a team and build relationships is important. Other skills and qualities we'd like to see include:
1. Good communication
2. Ability to prioritise and multitask
3. Positive approach, even if things go wrong
With inclusivity at our hearts, we're 100% committed to having a workforce that represents every part of our society, so we're keen to hear from candidates of all backgrounds and circumstances. The only barrier to applying would be if you didn't have the right to work in the UK and were unable to obtain it without our support.
What's in it for you
You'll be joining a constantly evolving team that changes with the mobile network. This role will see new skills and new experiences regularly. During the scheme, you'll also work towards a level 3 business administration apprenticeship. We'll offer a starting salary of £27,000 with the opportunity to increase this to £30,000 at 12 months. Upon successful completion of the scheme, salaries start from £36,000. Plus, enjoy our amazing benefits, including:
1. 25 days holiday, increasing to 28 days after 5 years
2. Your birthday off
3. Flexible benefits package including matching up to 10% of your pension contributions, medical plans, and buying and selling holiday
4. Wide range of discounts on everything from days out to household bills
Next steps
If we feel like a place where you can belong, we'd love to learn more about you as a person and your experience to date. Once you've submitted an application, the next steps of the process, if successful, are likely to include an online test, a telephone interview, a coaching call, and an assessment centre. When you apply, you'll be asked about any adjustments you might need to support the recruitment process. Let us know, and we'll be sure to discuss it with you.
Please note: Applications will be reviewed, and interviews conducted throughout the duration of this advert, therefore we may bring the closing date forward. We encourage all interested applicants to apply as soon as possible. If you're offered a job with us, it will be conditional, based on the passing of background checks. All roles require a criminal record check and some roles need a financial probity check. Your recruiter can provide you with more information if needed. Thanks for your patience and for showing an interest in joining the Virgin Media O2 family.
