Café Project Lead

Salary: Pay scale WA4-10 to WA4-16 FTE: £24,133-£27,663, Actual: £2,306-£2,643, plus instructor rate £20.00 for 4 hours
Hours: Session (4 hours), Thursday each week, term time only 9am - 1pm
The School converted to Academy status on 1st September 2018 and is part of the Multi Academy Trust. They are a special school for secondary pupils from Years 7 to 11 who have learning and additional needs.
The Role
They require a Café Project Lead to work each Thursday 9am-1pm, term time only.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Lead group of students on half termly rota
2. Support around 8 students, with support from teaching assistant(s)
3. Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that meets diverse needs of students
4. Support students in developing:
1. Teamwork
2. Independence
3. Communication skills
4. Hospitality skills
5. Confidence
6. Experience in a café-type setting
7. Cooking skills and knowledge
5. Adapt scheme of learning to best support learners
6. Promote an inclusive classroom
7. Maintain open and effective communication with students, parents, and colleagues
8. Manage orders for ingredients for the café
9. Plan and lead well-structured sessions to bring about positive outcomes
10. Adapt teaching to respond to the strengths and needs of students
11. Set high expectations that inspire, motivate, and challenge students
12. Promote good progress and outcomes by students
13. Implement the school's policies, practices, and procedures to support the school's values and vision
14. Provide cover in planned or unforeseen circumstances
15. Promote the safety and wellbeing of students
16. Maintain good order and discipline among students, managing behaviour effectively
17. Develop effective professional relationships with colleagues
18. Uphold public trust in the profession and maintain high standards of ethics and behaviour
19. Have proper regard for the ethos, policies, and practices of the school
20. Understand and act within the statutory frameworks setting out professional duties and responsibilities
21. Direct and supervise support staff assigned
Skills and Qualifications
1. Numerate and literate to GCSE or equivalent standard
2. High standard of communication, both verbal and written
