Laboratory & Test Equipment Engineer | Witney | £40,000pa - £50,000pa plus c£4k bonus & bens:
An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Laboratory & Test Equipment Engineer to join a well-established specialist manufacturer in the Witney area. With growth plans to scale their £100m turnover business to over £200m over the next 5 years, this role is a key component to ensure that their targets are met by managing, maintaining and improving their impressive Lab & Test equipment.
The Laboratory & Test Equipment Engineer will be based in Witney, but will need to be OK with travel, local and to a key testing facility in Germany. This is a really exciting and cool role, as the Laboratory & Test Equipment Engineer will get to work with destructive and non-destructive testing equipment on a daily basis. You will also be instrumental in the design and procurement of new equipment as the company grows.
Other key Laboratory & Test Equipment Engineer duties include:
* Maintain and calibrate all test equipment in test laboratories and on production lines.
* Co-ordinate specification, design and/or supply and installation of test equipment and fixtures as required by developing products and legislative changes.
* To support the Research & Development teams in the development of new test equipment.
* Evaluate problems with test equipment and make recommendations for possible corrective action.
* Participate in the writing of and/or revision of standard operating procedures (SOPs).
* Assist in the writing and updating of inspection procedures, protocol and checklists.
* Develop and document test procedures/protocols as required for new products.
The successful Laboratory & Test Equipment Engineer will need the following experience and skills:
* Good knowledge / experience of computer aided design packages, ideally solidworks.
* Good knowledge / experience of mechanical and electrical fabrication techniques and processes.
* Logical, methodical approach to your work; attention to detail.
* Experience of using inspection equipment.
* Experience of dealing directly with suppliers and customers.
* Good communication skills important to motivate others to improve the quality of their work, as well as to explain your findings clearly.
