We’re excited to be recruiting for a Consultant Paediatrician with a special interest in neonatology to join our passionate neonatal team. This is a fantastic opportunity for you to gain a breadth of clinical experience working in a local neonatal unit. You’ll be mainly based in the Neonatal Unit at Wythenshawe Hospital but will be part of a wider team of consultants providing invaluable care across the city of Manchester. We’re seeking a passionate and inspired individual to join our team and develop our service; you’ll lead Neonatal training of junior staff and undergraduate students and actively contribute in clinical teaching and training of the wider multidisciplinary team.
Candidates must be eligible for their own GMC registration -MFT cannot support GMC Sponsorship for candidates who are offered permanent vacancies.
The successful candidate will be resilient, ambitious and innovative, you’ll carry a vibrant ‘can do’ attitude and mirror our values perfectly. You’ll develop and maintain relationships readily and enjoy working within a strong and supportive team. You’ll be on the GMC Specialist Register or be eligible for CCT (or equivalent) within six months of interview.
• Provision of a first-rate neonatal service at local, regional and national levels
• Part of a Neonatal consultant team responsible for education and training of medical students, nurses, midwives and trainee doctors
• Provision of best outcomes through evidence-led clinical care and improvement led by research and evidence
• Maintenance of the highest clinical standards
• To share with colleagues the responsibility for day-to-day management of the intensive care, high dependency, special care and other ward areas
• Liaison with clinicians and managers across perinatal networks
• Teaching and training of neonatal junior doctors, nursing staff, midwives and medical students
• To participate in Continuing Professional Development, Clinical Governance, Safeguarding, and Appraisal and Revalidation
