Group Finance Director SERE Holdings Ltd Belfast, Northern Ireland About SERE Holdings SERE Holdings is a dynamic and expanding group with diverse interests in vehicle retailing (SERE Ltd), aviation (247 Aviation Ltd, Jet Assist Limited), and road transportation (IMT Medical Transport). We are seeking a highly accomplished Group Finance Director to join our executive leadership team and drive financial performance across the group. This is a pivotal role that will shape the financial future of our organisation. Key Responsibilities: Financial Leadership: Act as a strategic partner to the Executive team, providing expert financial guidance and ensuring the long-term sustainability and growth of the group. Establish and maintain a robust financial framework, including policies, procedures, and internal controls. Lead the development and execution of a comprehensive financial strategy that aligns with the group's overall business objectives and maximises shareholder value. Financial Planning & Analysis: Prepare Group budgets and consolidated cashflows, ensuring accurate financial projections that inform strategic decision-making. Conduct in-depth financial analysis, identifying key performance indicators, highlighting trends, and uncovering opportunities for optimisation. Develop sophisticated excel models to assess the viability of potential investments, and acquisitions, and other strategic initiatives. Financial Reporting: Prepare consolidated financial statements and management reports, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with Financial Reporting Standards. Communicate financial performance effectively to the Executive team and Board of Directors, providing clear insights and actionable recommendations. Cultivate a collaborative relationship with external auditors, facilitating a seamless audit process and addressing any findings proactively. Risk Management: Proactively identify and evaluate financial risks across the group, developing and implementing appropriate risk mitigation strategies. Maintain a robust internal control environment, ensuring the integrity of financial data and minimizing the risk of fraud or error. Stay abreast of evolving financial regulations and industry best practices, ensuring the group's ongoing compliance. Team Management: Build and lead a small high-performing finance team, fostering a collaborative and results-oriented culture. Attract, develop, and retain top talent within the finance function, providing mentorship and career development opportunities. Empower team members to take ownership of their responsibilities, while maintaining clear accountability and performance expectations. Stakeholder Management: Cultivate strong relationships with key internal stakeholders, collaborating effectively with operational managers and functional leaders to achieve shared goals. Develop effective communication channels with external stakeholders, including bankers, finance partners, and business partners to maintain transparency and build trust. Negotiate favourable terms with external parties, ensuring the group's financial interests are protected and maximised. Qualifications and Experience: Qualified Accountant: Hold a recognised accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent). Financial and Accounting Experience: A minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in financial roles, with at least 5 years in a Group Financial Controller or similar senior position within a large organisation. Industry Experience: Prior experience in the retail, aviation and/or medical transportation sectors is desirable. Leadership Skills: A proven track record of leading and inspiring teams, with strong strategic thinking, decision-making, and problem-solving abilities. Communication Skills: Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to distil complex financial information into clear, concise, and actionable insights. Spreadsheet Expertise: Advanced proficiency in spreadsheet software like Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets is fundamental. This includes knowledge of complex formulas, functions, data validation, and formatting techniques.
