Summary Position Summary Under the direction and with the support of the Lean Manager: the successful candidate will be responsible for learning and executing lean concepts by studying, and planning operations for the effective utilisation of personnel, material, machines and facilities where decisions are made within the limits of general practices and policies. Responsibilities Responsibilities Assist in leading or supporting front-line Lean initiatives at the Plant level by utilising the SLC site Value stream metrics. Organise associates in value stream mapping and continuous improvement initiatives to eliminate waste in all office, factory and support functions. Measure and report progress on an on-going basis using PDCA actions, keeping leadership informed and involved. Transfers lean principles to facility leadership. Maintain a safe workplace for self and fellow associates. Lead and guide Lean initiatives within the Plant. Works with Plant level management on Lean projects using lean tools and metrics. Assists in the development of a Lean Strategy to be implemented plant wide. Coordinate in initiatives at the plant and train associates how to continually eliminate waste. Qualifications Qualifications Must have participated or supported a previous 3-5-day Kaizen within the past 36 months. Strong communication skills. Positive “Can Do” attitude displayed in daily activities. Strong problem-solving skills displayed in previous events. Confident user of Word, Microsoft Excel and Power point software. High degree of mechanical ability. Requires lifting objects weighing up to approximately 50 pounds. Pushing, pulling, or lifting objects may require greater exertion. Knowledge of mechanic’s tools and equipment, calipers, gauges, and micrometers required.
