The Product Development and Sustainment Programme Manager leads and manages the development and enhancement of the torpedo launchers, ensuring the products are enhanced in a controlled way, addressing the addition of new features and managing obsolescence.

What you’ll be doing
This role will play a key part in the definition of the torpedo launcher strategy, being a skilled influencer to develop business and maintain excellent customer relationships (both internal and external). Responsibilities include:
1. Manage product developments funded by customer programmes, projects, tasks and work packages or private venture (PV) funding
2. Take responsibility for the outcomes, budget, quality, and timescales of product releases
3. Act as the customer-facing project manager’s supplier and internal point of contact
4. Provide effective leadership in product team and beyond, focusing on delivery of common goals
5. Leverage a deep understanding of SEA's business and technology to add value in product delivery
6. Operate in line with SEA's business management system and champion process improvements
7. Drive continual improvement within the product team
8. Commit to personal continued professional development
9. Travel may be required to visit other SEA sites and customer/supplier premises in the UK and abroad
The skills you need
1. Experience of managing complex product/systems developments through the full product lifecycle
2. Experienced in risk and opportunity management
3. Expert in configuration management
4. Excellent communicator with strong change and conflict management skills
5. Proven knowledge and experience of all project phases in the military environment
6. Deep knowledge of project management competencies including financial management
7. Hands-on experience with project management tools, such as Microsoft Project
