Our client is a World Leading Construction and Civil Engineering Company and is currently delivering a Major Civil Engineering Project in West London, which forms part of the construction of the new HS2 Station at Old Oak Common in Acton.
They are currently seeking to employ, on a permanent basis, two Senior Quality Engineers to complement the existing project teams.
Duties & Responsibilities:
1. Practical experience in quality management within the construction industry, preferably in a project-based organisation.
2. Technical knowledge and experience relevant to one of the following areas: FRC works.
3. Support development, documentation and ongoing maintenance of the Quality (& Construction Assurance) Plan (supported by the QCAH Manager and other team members) to meet relevant requirements (including ISO 9001) and associated procedures.
4. Provide appropriate input and support for development and ongoing maintenance of other plans & procedures.
5. Contribute to development and maintenance of a risk-based audit schedule.
6. Support the Quality Manager and QCAH Manager to ensure a specific, relevant, and comprehensive set of subcontract requirements relevant to quality and construction assurance have been incorporated within each tender package.
7. Provide appropriate and proactive support working collaboratively with the project team, suppliers, and others to ensure requirements have been met and authorisation can be given for works to commence by the required date. This includes development and agreement by relevant parties of suitably comprehensive Inspection & Test Plans and corresponding items (e.g. checklists).
8. Work collaboratively with the Project Team, suppliers, and other interested parties to maintain the system of progressive assurance for the works including benchmarking, inspection, and documentation.
9. Champion implementation and enforcement of the Quality Procedures (including Quality Control system).
10. Complete detailed investigations with respect to quality incidents to determine the facts and root cause(s) including issue of corresponding report and associated recommendations.
11. Support the project team in dealing with external auditing governing bodies to maintain relevant certification.
12. Support development and implementation of the platforms (e.g. Business Collaborator) used for day-to-day management of the IMS.
Experience Required:
1. Degree qualified in civil engineering, Construction Management or equivalent.
2. Previous experience in managing complex civil engineering or construction packages.
