SEN GCSE Tutor
Role - GCSE Tutor
Location - Barking & Dagenham
Rate - £27 - £35 an hour (Part-time contract)
Milk Education is currently recruiting for GCSE Tutors in the Barking & Dagenham area. The role of a GCSE tutor is to support SEN students while they are waiting for a new school place or specialist provision. As a GCSE tutor, you must have a good understanding of the UK Curriculum, particularly in Maths and English from KS3-KS4. You will also be supporting students with confidence building, communication development, and emotional support.
About the role as a GCSE Tutor:
1. Provide one-on-one tutoring sessions to students in need of academic support
2. Develop personalized lesson plans and instructional materials based on the student's needs and learning style
3. Assist students with homework assignments, test preparation, and study skills
4. Monitor student progress and provide feedback to parents or guardians
5. Collaborate with teachers and other educational professionals to ensure student success
6. Utilize various teaching strategies and techniques to engage and motivate students
7. Maintain accurate records of tutoring sessions and student progress
About you as a GCSE Tutor:
1. Experience working with children, particularly in an educational setting
2. Subject specialist and previous experience as a tutor
3. Knowledge of special education principles and practices is a plus
4. Strong ability to educate and communicate effectively with students of different needs, ages, and backgrounds
5. Patience, empathy, and the ability to adapt teaching methods to meet individual student needs
6. Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple students and assignments simultaneously
7. Reliable transportation to travel to tutoring sessions (if applicable)
8. Understanding of the UK Curriculum
9. Able to plan and prepare lessons
10. Effective in relationship building
