This post requires a person who is able to work with and influence the MDT in their specialist area, and provide a high quality service to patients.

Your varied and complex caseload will include managing the nutrition of peri-operative patients and those recovering from surgery. There will be an expectation to develop strong links with the MDT, which will require excellent communication skills.
The post holder will utilise their specialist knowledge of oral, enteral and parenteral feeding strategies. Although experience in each of these would be beneficial, there would be ample opportunity for training to upskill.
There will be opportunities to improve skills and knowledge in other specialist areas, such as gastroenterology and critical care. Our experienced and supportive team will be able to provide training and supervision to support your development in these areas.
Alongside the acute setting, there will be scope for working in the outpatient setting, with clinics that provide an interesting caseload to maintain a breadth of dietetic knowledge.
You will be joining the friendly and experienced team of Dietitians, Dietetic Assistant Practitioners, Dietetic Assistants and Nutrition Nurse Specialists (NNS) at an Outstanding Trust, playing a play a vital role in service delivery, quality improvement, education and resource development.
We take students form the North East, North Yorkshire Partnership for A, B and C placements and we are working closely with the HEIs. All staff take part in student training – support will be provided for the successful applicant.

To act as a specialist dietitian in your area of expertise and provide a comprehensive and effective dietetic service to the trust.
To provide a quality Nutrition and Dietetic Service in Northumbria Healthcare NHS Trust to include diverse inpatient and outpatient specialties.
The post will cover a specific specialty working in one area eg Critical Care, Stroke, Gastroenterology, Surgery, General Medicine, Diabetes, Respiratory, COPD, ONS, Oncology, Bariatrics, Community Oral Nutrition Support, Home Enteral Feeding, Adult weight management and Orthopaedics etc across sites and / or to have a site specialty role.
