A little about myself:
I am young boy who is funny, imaginative, charming, busy and neurodiverse.
My interests include surfing, swimming, music, fishing, farm club, pottery, making things, café visits and playing on my iPad or Switch. Additionally, I have some unusual special interests that I love to share with others!
I can get scared and refuse requests/demands when I’m not feeling in control of a situation or something goes wrong, but I can’t always put these feelings into words. Consequently, I show you I’m worried by behaving in a way that can be challenging, such as trying to take control of a situation, shouting or occasionally hitting out. I appear confident with an amazing memory and vocabulary but am often anxious and hypervigilant of my surroundings. I like to know what I am doing for the day, but need someone who can also be flexible depending on my needs/how I’m feeling on the day.
Someone who has plenty of energy to keep up with my frequently changing ideas and join me on adventures at home and in the community would be great. An experience of working with additional needs would be beneficial, but an open mind and willingness to support me in the way that helps me is more important.
Mum will happily discuss my additional needs in more detail with PA’s interested in the position and provide informal training/discuss supportive strategies that help me.
