An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the professional lead nursing team in the BCHC Children and Families Division. You will be responsible for organising, delivering and evaluating specialist training to a range of staff across the 0-19 clinical group and Birmingham Forward Steps (BFS) partnership.
Main Duties of the Job
* Ensure that staff are competent to meet the skills required for delivery of the Healthy Child Programme, mandatory training, and role-specific training needs to meet the service delivery model for children and families.
* Maintain accurate training data.
* Utilise competency frameworks to evaluate and provide feedback on skills and knowledge development.
* Liaise and communicate with staff to encourage uptake of training and sign off of competencies.
* Organise and deliver specialist training to a range of staff, including theoretical training and practical demonstrations.
* Develop and review guidance, newsletters, and training packages for health staff.
* Advise and support 0-19 staff in developing and regularly reviewing policies and procedures.
* Contribute to practice-related improvement plans to enable learners to achieve the required standard of proficiency.
* Work within the NMC code of professional conduct, exercising professional accountability at all times.
* Report back to the Deputy Professional Lead any identified concerns.
* Manage own time and prioritise own workload.

* Work within the 0-19 service providing specialist training, advice, and support to staff.
* Responsible for organising, delivering, and evaluating specialist training across the clinical group and BFS partnership.
* Provide advice and support to 0-19 staff in developing and reviewing policies and standard operating procedures around the Healthy Child Programme.
* Responsible for the clinical supervision of staff and delivery of specialist training.
* Manage the delegation of work to admin support team members.
* Regularly review training in conjunction with the Group Clinical Manager and Professional Lead.
* Participate in the Trust's clinical effectiveness and audit programmes and research as appropriate.
* Keep updated with current trends and advances within the 0-19 services.
* Proficient with Microsoft Office.
* Undertake other duties commensurate with this grade of post.
Person Specification
Essential:
* Registered first level Nurse
* Specialist community public health nurse qualification
* Experience of supervising staff
* Health Visiting experience
* Excellent written skills
Desirable:
* Experience of delivering teaching sessions to staff
* Experience in developing training packages
* Experienced in the use of Microsoft Office (PowerPoint and Excel)
