Inglis Vets Hospital, Dunfermline, Scotland
Inglis Vets is excited to offer a fantastic opportunity for a passionate and dedicated Veterinary Surgeon to become a valued member of our large, friendly team. This is a permanent position that offers a diverse and fulfilling workload.
As part of this role, you’ll engage in a varied caseload that includes hospital shifts, managing complex cases and providing care for patients requiring intensive treatment and hospitalization. You’ll work closely with a collaborative team of Registered Veterinary Nurses, Animal Care Assistants, and Client Care professionals.
In addition to hospital shifts, you’ll enjoy the benefits of working at our branch locations, focusing on routine cases in a smaller, close-knit team setting, allowing you to build meaningful relationships with clients from the local community.
Work/Life Balance
At Inglis Vets, we’re happy to consider both full-time and part-time applications to suit your lifestyle. Our full-time positions offer a 4-day working week, Monday to Friday, providing an excellent work-life balance. We take pride in offering our own in-house Out of Hours (OOH) service and provide OOH support for local practices. You’ll be joining a highly experienced team, including dedicated Night Nurses who are onsite throughout the night to ensure the highest level of patient care.
For those with a passion for emergency and critical care, this is an excellent opportunity to hone your skills in a supportive environment. When on duty, you will have time off during the day and enjoy generous stand-down periods to help maintain your energy and focus. Our OOH duty shifts are typically on a 1 in 12 rotation, ensuring a manageable workload.
We are a busy and well-established vet practice with a main hospital and 8 branches located in Fife and Central Scotland. We are dedicated to providing our clients with excellent care and offer our own out of hours services. The branches are easily accessible, but a full driving licence and own transportation is a must.
We have a passionate and hardworking team of over 100 employees, including around 40 Registered Veterinary Nurses and Animal Care Assistants, 30 Vets, and 30 Support Staff. We are enthusiastic about our teams’ development and currently have vets studying for certificates in medicine, surgery, and cardiology.
We recognise that our people are fundamental to the success of our business. Investing in our people, premises, and processes is at the heart of what we do. In addition to a competitive base salary, you will benefit from:
