Senior Project Engineer is sought by a highly innovative Oil and Gas energy company in London to join their Electrical and Instrumentation Engineering Team to add value across onshore and offshore maintenance, project management, and commissioning. Consequentially they require bright and passionate Senior Project Engineer technologists to impact their mission to innovate green/brownfield projects, managing third party vendors on key activities and deliverables as well as take ownership in technical bid evaluation, E&I studies, conceptual proposal and technical justification on behalf of my client. As Senior Project Engineer you will be accountable for delivering project initiation and support. Essentially facilitate the smooth initiation and early stages of projects, ensuring that all electrical and instrumentation systems and equipment are properly selected, integrated, and aligned with overall project objectives; taking a lead on technical assessments and conducting reviews coordinating with counterparts across the business. As Senior Project Engineer you will also collaborate with third party vendors, managing and maintaining relationships with third-party vendors, ensuring that all contractual obligations are met to the highest standards. Actively seek out and assess new vendor opportunities to enhance project success. From a documentation as well as safety and compliance perspective you will also be instrumental in HAZOPs, SIL reviews and FATs. Senior Project Engineer permanent profile required: At least 5 years of hands-on experience in the oil and gas industry, specifically related to production installations. Experience should encompass both design and execution phases within E&I projects. Brownfield works. In-depth knowledge and practical experience with High Voltage (HV) and Low Voltage (LV) power systems, including power plants, distribution networks, and control systems. Extensive experience with HV & LV motor drives, alternators, inverters, high voltage cells, variable speed units, and lighting networks. Strong familiarity with switchgear and related equipment, supported by adequate training in HV/LV systems and safety protocols Proven capability in the design, installation, and maintenance of instrumentation systems within complex oil and gas projects. Hands-on experience with the selection and integration of various sensors, transmitters, and control devices to ensure seamless project execution. Proficiency in Digital Control Systems (DCS), including operation, programming, and troubleshooting. Familiarity with programming languages and platforms from major vendors such as Rockwell, ABB, or Emerson, with an emphasis on creating and maintaining efficient control systems. Valid and up-to-date certifications or documented training in IECEx, ATEX, or EEHA standards, showcasing a commitment to safety and regulatory compliance in explosive atmospheres and hazardous areas Bright and highly collaborative with a get-things-done attitude to problem solving and technical challenges. Masters or Bachelor's or higher degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering, with extensive instrumentation design and field execution experience is desirable.
