About the Role: We are working with a reputable and forward-thinking accountancy practice in the South Birmingham area, who are seeking a Client Manager to join their growing team. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced individual who enjoys managing client relationships, overseeing accounts preparation, and working to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. As a Client Manager, you will be responsible for managing client deadlines, handling client queries, and supporting the team in delivering high-quality services.
You will report directly to the Senior Managers and Directors, playing a key role in maintaining the high standards of service expected by clients.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Regularly liaise with allocated clients, managing their queries and ensuring all records are collated to meet deadlines.
2. Review VAT returns prepared by the team and ensured accuracy.
3. Conduct reviews of client accounts before they are handed over to senior management for final review.
4. Prepare accounts to draft stage for limited companies, sole traders, and partnerships.
5. Prepare management accounts for clients when required.
6. Conduct client visits at their premises to build strong relationships and gather necessary information.
7. Assist other client managers with work planning and prioritising tasks.
8. Prepare ad-hoc VAT returns when necessary.
9. Support and help train junior team members, helping to develop the next generation of accountants.
Role Requirements: The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate experience and competence in the following areas:
10. Strong communication skills, both with clients and within the team.
11. Experience managing people and leading teams effectively.
12. Ability to manage deadlines and prioritise tasks in a busy environment.
13. Confidence in liaising with senior management and working collaboratively within a team.
14. Strong attention to detail and accuracy in all aspects of work.
Qualifications & Experience:
15. Fully qualified member of a chartered professional body such as ACCA, CA, CIMA, or ICAEW (via the examination route).
16. A full UK driving licence is required due to the need for client visits.
17. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
