Your role with us This is an exciting opportunity to join FCDO as a UK-based Education Adviser. In all roles, you will use your expertise and experience to help improve education access and learning outcomes for children and young people and will focus on building cost-effective and inclusive education systems that are climate resilient. You will lead on education policy, advocacy and programming in the UK and across FCDO networks and will develop and sustain strong partnerships with national, regional and international partners with a focus on aligning financial and technical support behind national education priorities. You will work closely with colleagues in FCDO headquarters and country offices to deliver centrally funded programmes and research, ensuring they are aligned with FCDO’s policy and programmes in country and support delivery of national education objectives. You will commission and/or communicate research and evidence on what works and will look for opportunities to engage across sectors. Your expertise and experience will guide senior FCDO decision makers in their engagement with national and international partners. Who we’re looking for These are exceptional roles for dynamic, independent team players. We are looking for expert-level professionals who have an in-depth knowledge of education policy and systems, the global education system and its institutions, and equality and inclusion within education. With exceptional research and evidence-building skills, you will bring an innovative approach to every challenge, and you will have a background in delivering successful education outcomes in low or lower-middle income countries. You should have relevant international work experience and possess the necessary specialist skills or technical knowledge. We will also expect you to have exceptional communication and influencing skills and the ability to see the bigger picture at all times. You will be a British citizen and will be prepared to attain Developed Vetting (DV) security clearance.
