Job summary Ward 4 is an acute medical Oncology ward, which specialises in caring for patients with Altered Airways, based within one of the leading cancer centres in Europe. We care for a variety of different disease groups. This provides an array of exposure, broadens knowledge, and expertise within the field of oncology. We treat patients with a full range of diagnostic, inpatient, and treatment needs. Alongside specialising in Altered Airways, we administer chemotherapy regimens, we also support patients during their treatment with the symptoms and side effects of treatment. We are seeking a friendly, enthusiastic and caring housekeeper to contribute to the excellent care that is provided on Ward 4 On Ward 4 you can expect both a rewarding and challenging role, working with a wide range of oncology patients in a busy environment. You should possess excellent communication skills, IT literate, willing to work flexibly as part of a team and be committed to high standards of working. The working hours of this role will be Monday to Friday (excluding bank holidays). Main duties of the job The Ward Housekeeper will be required to undertake a range of duties associated with the upkeep of the units environment and maintain the highest standard of cleanliness. To work as part of a team and in conjunction with the Domestic(s). As part of the unit team the Housekeeper will enhance the delivery of patient care by nursing staff and carers. The Housekeeper may at anytime be requested to assist in other areas as Service requires. The role will include duties such as: Reporting of maintenance within the ward, ordering of stock, keeping the ward clean, tidy and well organised in line with infection control policy and procedure, working as part of a team and in conjunction with the Domestic staff.
