An exciting new opportunity has arisen for a Junior Merchandiser/Stock Controller working for retail company based in Harrogate.
The role will involve:
•Assisting in managing stock levels
•Forecasting demand, and ensuring smooth operations, while also contributing to the overall merchandising strategy and sales performance.
•Full responsibility for planning and trading the business as well as driving sales
•Assisting in other departments where needed and help develop team members. There is scope to grow and show off your merchandising skills, as well as drive a brand forward.
Communicating daily with suppliers, shipping, buying and the shop floor.
Key responsibilities of the Junior Merchandiser/Stock Controller:
Receiving stock/goods in:
•Handling of all incoming stock from supplier couriers
•Inputting all new stock onto the EPOS system
•Ensuring that all stock is correctly priced
•Matching stock received to order placed
•Quality control of all stock prior to being placed on the shop floor for sale
•Steaming clothes prior to being put onto the shop floor for sale
•Removal of all packaging to the refuse bins
Stock Management:
•Monitoring and maintaining accurate stock levels.
•Identifying slow-moving or redundant stock.
•Processing orders and ensuring timely delivery.
•Updating stock information in computer systems.
•Performing regular stock checks
Merchandising Support:
•You will own the goods in and merchandising dept.
•Own all Monday trade reporting, top line notes, and ability to highlight key actions and follow up accordingly with wider team producing sell through reports for buying purposes.
•You will be accountable for the trading of your area with the ability to forecast and plan.
•Analysing departmental, range, and product performance sales data and trends to forecast demand.
•Set clear strategies ahead of each trading period on what sales will be achieved, along with how.
•Be mindful of the competition and all promotional activity you wish to implement.
•You will actively review, monitor and pull historic data to support trading actions ahead of, or in season to drive sales for the business.
•Ability to spot gaps within ranges working with suppliers to ensure adequate stock levels.

The ideal candidate will -
•Have experience within a similar role.
•Be highly numerate with strong commercial focus .
•Have a good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
•Excellent attention to detail.
•Experience of electronic stock control systems.
The role is available on a 4 or 5 day week basis and offers a salary in the region of £21,000 – 23,000 for 4 days or £26,000 – 28750 for 5 days.
