Salary: from £54,600 with up to 15% Annual Bonus and Single Health Cover

Purpose
Belonging to the Operations Engineering Team and reporting to the Lead Structural & Mechanical Engineer, the Senior O+M Engineer (structural) will be responsible for defining and implementing the strategy to manage Offshore structural assets for multi-million offshore O&M campaigns. This includes management of contractors and associated interfaces, ensuring quality, best practices, and excellent H&SE performance are applied.
The Operations Engineering Structural team provides technical advice and expertise at all stages of the project lifecycle, supporting the contract strategy by determining what needs to be procured and providing technical assessment to the O&M package/Site Managers ensuring that delivery is to agreed design and quality standards.
You will be working as part of a global business, supporting activities in many countries across Europe and the rest of the world, focusing on developing and supporting the UK Offshore windfarm sites and developing the asset management system related to offshore structures.
Responsibilities
1. Leading technical due diligence of new Offshore Windfarm structures to ensure design, installation, and operations capture O&M best practices, efficiently managing maintenance contracts to reduce costs and maximize business EBITDA.
2. Defining necessities, improvements, and maintenance strategies of Offshore structural assets to guarantee highest asset availability, compliance with regulatory requirements, and best service quality.
3. Identifying technical risks related to asset condition and proposing necessary actions/plans to mitigate those risks.
4. Assessing technical issues related to structural assets, carrying out Root Cause Analysis, and proposing/implementing necessary actions to avoid re-occurrence.
5. Preparing method statements and implementing required corrective and preventive maintenance activities to maintain/recover asset availability/reliability.
6. Coordinating and managing maintenance activities with local Iberdrola technical site teams to guarantee execution timescales and work quality in compliance with applicable H&S rules.
7. Defining the best technical solutions for new Offshore projects under development and construction with the Structural & Mechanical Lead.
8. Preparing Scope of Works and Supplier Technical Evaluations, playing an active role during the procurement processes.
What you'll bring
Degree qualified with experience in offshore wind, oil & gas, or a related field, with sound knowledge in structural integrity, inspection, and maintenance activities of Offshore structures.
Strong financial acumen and an understanding of cost and income drivers within an asset management business.
Highly developed influencing and negotiation skills, able to obtain buy-in from all levels of the organization and external providers.
Ability to interpret broader business perspectives and implement appropriate actions while identifying critical operational performance requirements.
Strong planning and coordination skills over a long-term time horizon, prioritizing work and delivering results while managing multiple stakeholders.
Commercially sound with strong analytical and problem-solving skills and a solid understanding of economic and physical processes associated with asset management.
