Fantastic opportunity for an RVN to join an established Cambridgeshire hospital in Whittlesford The Role: At our purpose built Whittlesford practice we focus on surgery (including laparoscopic surgery, TTAs/TPLOs, fracture repairs) and dentistry. No day is ever the same. We are well equipped with everything you would expect, including multiparameter, digital x-ray, laparoscopic equipment, orthopaedic equipment, dental x-ray and a full dental suite. There is a separate cat and dog ward, and we are proud to have silver cat friendly status. We also have on-site parking available for the team, and the hospital is a short, 1 minute walk from Whittlesford Parkway train station which offer excellent rail link, including into London. As an RVN on our day team, you would be working alongside and experience team of 3-4 Vets, 6 nurses and support staff ; one of the Vets on the team has a surgical certificate and we do also have a certificate holder in dentistry. We have a strong ethos at Village Vets Cambridge, and you will be welcomed into and honest and open team who really work well to support and encourage each other. We love to support individual interests and can offer great in-house training opportunities, making the perfect environment to grow your skill. Whittlesford offer a great caseload, particularly in surgery, dentistry, anaesthesia, and nurse consults are also a real focus You will though get to participate in all areas of nursing. We are also a nurse training practice and would welcome an additional clinical coach on the team thought this is not essential. Typical hours are 42 per week over 5 weekdays ( 4 weekdays could be discussed ) and participation in the 1 in 6 weekend rota. Nurses are also on the EIN rota which is paid extra. There are no nights or inpatient checks with this role. 1 bank holiday per year which is paid extra and with a day back in lieu. A Village Vet nursing role includes a wide breadth of nursing duties, incorporating the management of complex medical and surgical patients, provision of perioperative care, assisting with the provision of anaesthesia and schedule III procedures, as well as supporting the patient journey from admission to discharge. We also support our clients with regular (and busy) nurse clinics. Our vets are amazing, many of them are certificate holders and some are advanced practitioners too.
