Job Description Job Title: Registered Manager – Care Home (Mental Health Focus) Salary: Up to £72,000 per annum Location: North-West I’m currently working with a highly reputable care home that specialises in providing exceptional care for individuals with mental health needs, and I’m looking for an experienced Registered Manager to lead their team. The ideal candidate will be a Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) with proven experience in managing residential care services and delivering person-centred care to individuals with mental health conditions. Key Responsibilities: Leadership & Management: You will take full responsibility for managing the day-to-day operations of the care home, ensuring the team delivers high-quality, person-centred care that meets both regulatory standards and the individual needs of the residents. Care Delivery: Overseeing the delivery of care to residents with mental health challenges, you’ll ensure that care plans are regularly reviewed and tailored to the unique needs of each individual, delivering a personalised approach to care. Staff Management & Development: Leading a dedicated and skilled team, you will foster a culture of teamwork and development, ensuring staff are supported through regular supervision, appraisals, and relevant training to maintain a high standard of care. Regulatory Compliance: You will ensure the home remains compliant with all relevant health and safety regulations, CQC standards, and organisational policies, while actively driving the home’s performance towards outstanding results. Quality Assurance: Regular audits, performance reviews, and resident/family feedback will be central to your role. You will implement action plans to address areas for improvement, always striving to enhance the quality of care. Budget & Financial Management: You will be responsible for managing the care home’s budget, ensuring resources are efficiently allocated, and financial targets are met while maintaining a high level of care. Stakeholder Engagement: Building strong relationships with residents, families, and external agencies will be crucial, ensuring open communication and that concerns are dealt with promptly and professionally. Risk Management: Identifying and managing potential risks is key, and you will take a proactive approach to risk assessments, safeguarding, and incident management. Key Requirements: Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) with an active NMC PIN is preferable but not an absolute requirement. Proven experience as a Registered Manager in a care home setting, preferably with a focus on mental health care. A deep understanding of mental health conditions and the principles of effective care delivery. Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills, with the ability to motivate and guide your team. Extensive knowledge of CQC standards, health and safety regulations, and safeguarding policies. Experience managing budgets and financial performance within a care home environment. A compassionate and empathetic approach, always putting the needs of the residents at the forefront. A commitment to quality assurance and continuous improvement within a care setting. Desirable: Level 5 or higher qualification in Health and Social Care management. Experience with complex mental health conditions and the ability to manage more challenging cases. A sound understanding of the financial aspects of managing a care home.
