Job Summary
TheDownstream Strategy & Planning Engineer will join theInvestment & Portfolio Analysis Division in the DownstreamStrategy and Capital Planning Department (DS&CP). DS&CP isresponsible for the coordination (and development support) of allof SAOs Downstream Investment Plan and Strategy. It also providesquantitative input to SAOs Downstream Executive Committees workingin close cooperation with other Strategy & Capital PlanningDivisions across the organization.
TheDownstream Strategy & Planning Engineers primary role is toprovide quantitative analysis and confirmation of SAOs DownstreamInvestment Plan strategic fit.
Responsibilities:
* Conducts technoeconomic analysis on variousDownstream Opportunities particularly focusing on integratedRefining / Petrochemicals assets and their integration withdownstream segments like Trading and Retail. Evaluates theiralignment with SAOs Downstream strategy.
* Develops quantitative analysis on sustainability andEnvironmental Social and Governance (ESG) implications for SAOsDownstream Investment Plan with a specific emphasis on emissionsand product carbon footprint evaluations.
* Collaborates with all Downstream Business units and othercorporate functions to establish and update appropriate investmentanalysis criteria.
* Provides commercial andtechnical expertise in executing the downstream strategy includingassessing strategic options identifying tradeoffs and developingimplementation plans.
Requirements:
* This role required candidate topermanently relocate at Dhahran SaudiArabia.
* Strongly preferredBachelors degree in a Chemical Engineering related field; an MBA orrelevant advanced degree is highly desirable.
* Possess a minimum of 15 years of professional experienceencompassing operations technology and business development with aproven track record of conducting economic and commercialevaluations for downstream opportunities. This experience shouldprimarily cover refining and petrochemicals but also extend toother segments such as trading retail and low carbonenergies.
* Proficient in asset technoeconomicmodeling and optimization tools (e.g. PIMS Petroplan) as well asadept at utilizing data from prominent downstream/industryconsulting entities (such as IHS (S&P) WoodMacRydstad).
* Demonstrated knowledge of mainRefining and Chemicals process technologies including recentadvancements in the sustainability space (e.g. decarbonizationcircularity nonfossil feedstocks).
* Familiaritywith global energy markets and their trends showcasing a strongexternal perspective and a robust professional network.
* Ideally possess international and multicultural workingexposure.
