This role will focus on coordination of The Community Access Scheme and Spring into Community, at Wakehurst. Spring into Community is an annual festival for people who face barriers to engaging with the Gardens and the Community Access Scheme offers membership for community groups to make self-guided visits.
You will have the opportunity to work with staff and partners from a range of disciplines to deliver an exciting, accessible and creative programme of Spring into Community activities. You will also be able to grow the Community Access Scheme offer, by developing communications, marketing, learning resources and group training.
This is a rewarding position for a flexible and collaborative individual who enjoys the dynamic nature of events but who is also a strategic thinker, with excellent organisational skills and attention to detail. The ideal candidate will have significant experience of community engagement and experience of coordinating outdoor events.
This role will be based at Wakehurst, which is the Sussex based site for Kew Gardens, with the option of some home working (subject to operational requirements). You will need to be available from 1st April – 6th May for the Spring into Community, including some weekend working. The role is subject to an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
The salary for this position is £32,900 per annum (pro rata) [Band C].
