Main responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Providing Mental Health assessment, risk assessment and formulation of the mental health and treatment needs for referred patients; acting as care-coordinator. Provide recommendations for maintaining maximal employment, applying an occupational health matrix. Initiating and participating in regular clinical supervision, case conferences/professionals' meetings where mental health clinical input is required. Present patients to the MDT for guidance, support, supervision and training. Acting as a clinical resource and liaise with Medical Officers/General Practitioners (MO/GP) and offer advice to Unit Commanders on mental health matters, the administrative management of personnel with mental health difficulties and mental health promotion. Participating in Healthcare Governance processes to ensure maintenance of DCMH obligations to continuing CQC inspections and Safe and Effective Practise. There may be additional secondary clinical roles to assist the teams delivery of this but will not detract from the main focus of delivering assessment and therapy directly to patients. Communicating, where appropriate, on occupational information directly with service persons chain of command whilst respecting the principles of patient confidentiality (Caldicott).
