Main Purpose of Role: Woods Air Movement is recruiting a high calibre Procurement professional to join the team as a Category Manager. The Category Manager position will play an integral role in delivering the ambitious Woods Air Movement objectives on business growth, and cost management. As a Category Manager the expectation is to be a high contributing part of the Procurement team, owning categories from start to finish both operationally and strategically ensuring the best Quality, Delivery and Cost for Woods Air Movement. As part of the Procurement team the Category Manager will be developing and delivering strategic plans for the assigned categories including inventory profiling, supply chain and life cycle management, as well as sourcing, selecting and negotiation with existing and new suppliers. The successful candidate will have demonstratable experience and/or understanding of either category management, or procurement in general and ideally experience in the following: Fixings and Fasteners Tooling Vendor Managed Inventory Indirect Procurement including MRO, Facilities Management Services, Treatments and Processes for manufacture, Logistics and Transport. Main Duties & Responsibilities: Create and implement detailed commodity plans and supplier strategies to achieve Quality Delivery and Cost targets. Such plans should include but not be restricted to how to achieve material deflation target, total cost analysis, supplier improvement plans, and risk mitigation. Work closely with Functional site teams - Engineering, Quality, Product Management/Marketing and Operations to deliver sourcing strategies and needs of the Supply Chain Maintain an in-depth knowledge of markets conditions, global events impacting categories, and developing technologies which would benefit Woods Air Movement Own Supplier Management and the relationship with suppliers within categories, conducting appropriately regular Business and Performance reviews. To ensure compliance with purchasing procedures in accordance with prevailing Company policy, operating system, and business processes. To report and bring to the attention of Senior Management any non-compliance and to make recommendations for remedial action. To assist colleagues in their duties to ensure that departmental objectives and timescales are met, including the provision of cover in times of absence. To ensure Health and Safety procedures and good housekeeping are always adhered to. To assist the UK Head of Procurement in normal operational activities and to undertake any additional duties as reasonably requested by the Head or Procurement or Woods Air Movement the business. Person Specification/Profile: A passion for all things Procurement, and desire for continuous improvement Strong team player, with professional work ethic and driven for success. Familiar with modern Procurement tools and techniques for supplier appraisal, selection, and evaluation different tendering processes risk assessment and mitigation Understanding of demand and supply planning, including within ERP/MRP software solutions. Confident in negotiating with strong planning and preparation skills Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to clearly communicate at all levels.
