GDi are looking for an experienced, enthusiastic, and motivated Assistant Inspection Engineer to join our team. The role focuses heavily on supporting asset integrity management, particularly for topside facilities in the oil and gas industry. The ideal candidate will have previous experience in a similar engineering position.
Key Activities and Accountabilities:
* Provide support in the generation of inspection work packs for pipework and vessels in accordance with RBI inspection plans and Corrosion Risk Assessments.
* Provide support for the inspection engineer in asset integrity inspections and monitoring plans in support of Inspection/integrity management for all topside facilities on nominated asset(s).
* Retrieve project specific technical data from client library/documentation as required.
* Assist with the preparation of inspection and corrosion data for input into RBA reviews/and (or) client presentations and meetings.
* Provide support in the generation of inspection drawing mark-up.
* Produce various comprehensive equipment listings for database records.
* Support inspection engineer in maintaining the anomaly database and ensure all defects are subject to appropriate engineering evaluation.
* Assist in the review of completed inspection work packs/reports.
* Produce meeting minutes or notes as directed, monitor outstanding actions and minute the response from vendor, the client and any other relevant parties.
* Provide general assistance to the engineers on the project as required.
* Ensure effective data management within MMS database.
* Assist in the maintaining of electronic and hard copy filing systems.
Qualifications
Essential:
* Degree or equivalent technical qualification in a relevant engineering discipline or 2 years’ experience in a similar role and/or
* Previous experience in a similar engineering position in the oil and gas industry.
Essential Skills & Abilities & Experience
* Ability to read and interpret commonly used engineering drawings and data sets used in support of above water inspection activities e.g. piping isometrics, vessel general. arrangements, piping and instrumentation diagrams, process flow diagrams, piping schedules.
* Working knowledge of inspection management database systems e.g. ACET, COABIS.
* Knowledge of the uses and limitations of commonly applied non-destructive examination techniques applied in support of above water inspection activities e.g. magnetic particle inspection, ultrasonic wall thickness measurement, radiography techniques.
* Working knowledge of CMMS (SAP or similar).
