Trelleborg Sealing Solutions Cadley Hill is looking to recruit a Purchasing Value Stream Manager based at Cadley Hill, Swadlincote, Derbyshire. Reporting to the Plant Manager the successful candidate will be responsible for full management, of all purchasing activities within a complex and challenging manufacturing environment to develop and mediate the Supply Chain to ensure minimal production disruption and to create a best in class approach across the Supply Chain.
Tasks and Responsibilities
* Manage the purchasing and supplier development team to ensure that production materials are procured on time, to the right quality levels and at competitive price levels.
* Oversee the development of the existing supplier base to improve their performance. Develop long term agreements with suppliers based on competitive total cost of acquisition
* Ensure that any resourcing activity involving the introduction of new suppliers is executed in such a way that risk is reduced and ongoing deliveries are not compromised.
* Key focus on material availability to prevent production shortages and minimise expediting costs within the Supply Chain
* Maintain and develop all existing departmental KPIs with a focus on Supplier data driven SRM tools.
* Delivery of Trelleborg Purchasing Excellence programs that mitigate the cost increases.
* Measure shortages preventing production orders being released on time and put in place actions to resolve.
* Oversees and coordinates 4th shift (Local MRP) end-user training in order to ensure that team are able to use system efficiently and accurately.
* Develop stocking policies which minimise the inventory required whilst ensuring that production does not stop due to shortages.
* Cost Down Targets to be developed and delivered
* Performance manage, develop, coach and lead the Purchasing & GI team, to include cross training for holiday/absence cover.
* Identify, root cause and drive permanent corrective actions to avoid repeat failures within Supply Chain and the wider business
Education and Experience
* Minimum 5 years experience in Suppy Chain or Purchasing Management Role within a manufacturing environment, aerospace or automotive experience preferred but not essential
* CIPs qualified or similar preferred.
* A track record and ability to demonstrate the experience of managing a challenging/difficult Supply Base
* Experience of metal Pressings and or Silicone compounds would be advantageous

* Excellent communication, leadership and management skills, ideally with minimum five years experience in a leadership role.
