We are looking for a Sheet Metal Worker (SMW) to join our team at CHC Helicopter. Reporting to the Shift Supervisor, the SMW Mechanic will be part of our strong professional maintenance team, committed to continual improvement meeting/exceeding tight deadlines in a fast paced and dynamic environment. The team are responsible for delivering our multi-type fleet of Helicopters to the flight line to help our customers achieve their goals. The key responsibilities of a Sheet Metal Worker are : Perform aircraft skin and structure inspections, in accordance with approved applicable data (including composite repairs). Perform routine and unscheduled maintenance to our S92 and EC175 Helicopter fleet. Assist with aircraft teardown and rebuild during base maintenance projects. Accurate documentation of maintenance carried out within the scope of their approval. Use of appropriate machine tools e.g. Guillotine, Bending machines, Saws, Rollers and Hand Tools. Use of appropriate measuring tools e.g. Vernier’s, Micrometer’s, etc. Responsible for the cleanliness and tidiness of the work areas under their control. Must observe employee responsibilities to comply with Health, Safety and Environmental policy within their area. The ideal candidate will have the following : Experience of Rotary wing aircraft preferably within the Oil and gas environment, although other types and relative industry experience will be considered. Experienced at carrying out Sheet metal work repairs to exacting Aviation standards, preferably in the rotary wing environment. Experience of working with and ability to interpret engineering drawings, repair schemes and structural repair manuals. Able to work as part of a team or under own initiative, within a dynamic Part 145 Base maintenance environment. An awareness of MSDS and COSHH requirements. Knowledge and understanding of aviation regulations, policies and environment. Be computer literate - experience of AMOS MRO software is preferred but not essential. Good Communications skills, both verbal and written. The ability to work well within a high performing team. Candidates must have the right to live and work in the UK.
