The Opportunity
An exciting opportunity has become available with our leading client for an experienced Civil/Structural Engineer to become responsible for driving the design delivery processes throughout the project lifecycle.
This role has been deemed inside IR35 and is a 12-month duration role.
Location: Glasgow | Hybrid
Your Duties and Responsibilities Will Be:
1. Identify civil and structural project functional requirements and stakeholder engagement/third-party liaison for all civil and structural requirements needs for the assigned project.
2. Manage design delivery partners' inputs to the project.
3. Support project optioneering/value engineering process.
4. Review and accept project drawings, specifications, design risk assessments, and all associated civil and structural documentation.
5. Manage design delivery partners' detailed design activities in accordance with project standards and all other industry standard design codes and standards.
6. Provide technical supervision of all civil and structural construction activities to ensure compliance with design intent.
7. Specify and provide technical supervision of commissioning of all civil and structural work.
8. Liaise and consult with all stakeholders and relevant third parties throughout the project lifecycle to ensure efficient and effective project delivery.
9. Contribute to the effective development and delivery of training within own area of specialism.
You Will Have the Following Qualifications & Experience:
1. Experience in maritime projects.
2. Experience in heavy civils and structural projects.
3. Experience in management of design delivery partners.
4. Experience of developing design and safety assurance for heavy civils and structural projects.
5. Experience in quality and nuclear safety case production in civil engineering for complex projects.
The Setting for the Role
Risks and hazards are in line with working on a nuclear licensed site. These can include nuclear fuel, radiation, chemicals and gases, high voltage equipment, moving vehicles, flammable materials, high-pressure circuits, steam, high noise, and vibration levels. A full site induction will be provided and all safety requirements must be adhered to when entering the site.
