Consultant in Rehabilitation Medicine: Major Trauma
• Plymouth, Devon
• £105,504 to £139,882 per annum
• Livewell Southwest Community Interest Company
This 10 PA post is focussed on supporting the major trauma network, then the prosthetic service with additional activities with the intrathecal baclofen pump service and community neurorehabilitation. Opportunities to work in the inpatient rehabilitation wards (neurorehabilitation and stroke rehabilitation) and spinal pathway can be considered in the future.
The two main healthcare providers in Plymouth are the University Hospitals Plymouth (UHP) NHS Trust, that runs most of the inpatient services and the acute hospital, and Livewell Southwest (LSW), a social enterprise providing integrated health and social care services that also manages some inpatients units (e.g.: mental health and neurorehabilitation).
Joining the team you will be an expert in your area with broad rehabilitation medicine skills and a CCT/CESR in rehabilitation medicine with an interest in prosthetics and major trauma. You will be able to provide completely person centred care, instinctively involving patients in decisions regarding their care in a mix of inpatient and community settings. You will be an integral part of a wider team who are committed to providing a new, integrated approach to prosthetic rehabilitation across the acute and community providers in Plymouth.
As one of the UK’s only providers of physical, mental and social healthcare services for people of all ages and one of the UKs largest health and Social Care Community Interest Companies, we are able to offer something different, something like a flexible job plan, perhaps with a range of SPA and APA that is tailored to you.
Our organisation is rated good and outstanding in areas by the CQC, and our staff are committed to improve on these ratings year on year. Our staff are our biggest asset and so we strive to make careers that are personal, unique and flexible. We are extremely proud partners of both Plymouth University and Plymouth University Peninsula School of Medicine and Dentistry (PUPSMD) and have received exceptional feedback in our GMC survey from the trainees that have been on rotation with us.
We have a strong reputation as being an employer of choice and often have trainees and previous recruits returning to us. So, what are you waiting for? Come join us and see if we live up to reputation!
