Dynamometer Technician Location: Stratford-upon-Avon Salary: £18.50 - £21.00 Schedule: 8:30 – 16:30 Contract: Umbrella (inside IR35) or Limited (outside IR35) Role Overview: We are seeking a Dynamometer Technician with a strong background in powertrain and NVH testing. This hands-on role involves working in a semi-anechoic test chamber, supporting the evaluation of electric drive units and powertrain systems under operational loads. The ideal candidate will have practical experience in powertrain dynamometer systems, NVH measurement techniques, and vehicle component testing. Key Responsibilities of Dynamometer Technician: Operation of powertrain dynamometer systems to conduct repeatable, high-quality NVH measurements under controlled conditions. Installation and operation of electric drive units within a semi-anechoic test chamber. Setup and calibration of NVH measurement transducers, including microphones, accelerometers, displacement probes, and laser vibrometers. Ensuring the integrity and accuracy of test data, contributing to the robust delivery of powertrain test programs. Collaborating with engineering teams to troubleshoot, analyze, and optimize powertrain NVH performance. Occasional involvement in vehicle-based NVH testing, including track testing activities. Candidate Requirements: NVH testing experience is essential, particularly within an automotive or powertrain environment. Proven hands-on experience with powertrain dynamometers and related NVH measurement techniques. Strong understanding of NVH principles, data acquisition systems, and analysis methods. Relevant qualification in automotive engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related field. Ability to communicate effectively with cross-functional teams, customers, and suppliers. High Voltage (HV) vehicle knowledge (IMI EV Technician Level 2 training preferable but not essential). Good PC skills (Word, Excel, data analysis tools) are a distinct advantage. Full UK driving licence (or transferable equivalent). Must have the right to work in the UK. Work Location & Relocation: In-person role based in Stratford-upon-Avon.
