Support young people with special educational needs, working with students aged 11-19 who have various complex needs, including autism, learning disabilities, and communication challenges. We're seeking enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistants to work in a positive learning environment and make a meaningful difference in students' lives.
Key Responsibilities:
* Learning Support: Work closely with teachers to create an engaging and positive learning environment.
* Personalised Assistance: Provide targeted support in small groups or one-on-one, tailored to each student's sensory and communication needs.
* Build Supportive Relationships: Establish trust with students, ensuring they feel safe, included, and valued.
* Encourage Positive Behaviour: Use innovative strategies to foster positive behaviour, adapting your approach to each student's needs.
* Personal Care Support: Assist students with personal care when needed, always respecting their dignity and privacy.
What We're Looking For:
* Experience working with SEN students (paid or voluntary).
* A Level 2 or higher qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning (preferred but not essential).
* GCSEs in Maths and English (Grade C/Level 2 or above) - essential.
* A strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection.
* A creative, flexible approach to supporting diverse learning needs.
