About the Role You will provide an excellent delivery and collection service for temporary traffic management signage for the Highway Delivery workforce. Your work will also support the provision of highway maintenance, construction, forestry and street lighting activities where stop/go boards are required to direct the flow of traffic. You are responsible for safe temporary traffic management provisions for the site. Qualifications: NVQ 2 in Highways Maintenance or similar Skilled Road-worker Trades Test Assessment New Roads and Street works Act (NRSWA) Qualification (Operative) National Highways Sector Scheme 12B National Highways Sector Scheme 12C National Highways Sector Scheme 12D(T1/T2) National Highways Sector Scheme 12D (T5) Valid Driving Licence Valid Large Goods Vehicle Licence and CPC Trained with current DQC Card OR Demonstrable evidence of the skills and experience as outlined below, together with a commitment to attain the essential qualifications. Knowledge Materials used in civil engineering, street lighting, fleet repair, recycling & waste operations Extensive knowledge of safe working practices when using plant and machinery Construction Health, Safety and Environmental requirements and safe working procedures Reacting quickly when the work environment requires, to make safety related changes to temporary traffic management, independently of supervision. This role is a “Safety Critical Post” and, consequently, subject to random drug and alcohol testing in accordance with our policies and procedures. If successful in being appointed to the role, you will be required to agree to a planned test and achieve a negative result as part of any conditional offer of employment and/or during your probationary period.
