Postdoctoral Researcher in Cell Biology: An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Postdoctoral Researcher to join the Morgan Group at the John Innes Centre, working on cutting-edge science in the field of Cell & Developmental Biology.
Postdoctoral Researcher in Cell & Developmental Biology
Designation: Postdoctoral Researcher
Research Area: Cell & Developmental Biology, Molecular Biology, Meiotic Recombination
Location: John Innes Centre, Norwich, UK
Eligibility/Qualification: PhD in molecular biology or a related discipline, proven ability to perform protein biochemistry, experience in biochemistry in plant systems is desirable but not essential, strong interest in understanding the molecular mechanism of meiotic recombination. Candidates should have experience in protein purification, characterisation of purified proteins by biochemical, biophysical, or structural techniques, molecular cloning of recombinant expression of proteins, proteomic analysis of protein-protein interactions, and an understanding of the biochemical process of DNA recombination.
Job Description: The successful applicant will study the biochemistry of meiotic recombination proteins in Arabidopsis. Key tasks include determining the activity, putative targets, and oligomerisation properties of the recombination machinery in Arabidopsis. This study is vital for addressing key, open questions relating to meiotic crossover formation, such as understanding the underlying biophysics behind recombination protein coarsening dynamics and how this might drive crossover designation.
How to Apply: Further information and details of how to apply can be found on our website or by contacting the Human Resources team on 01603 450814 or nbi.recruitment@nbi.ac.uk, quoting reference 1004737.
