Learning Support Assistant (LSA) 1:1

Pay Scale: £75 - £120 Per Day

Are you passionate about working with students who have special educational needs? GSL Education is seeking a compassionate and dedicated 1:1 Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join our inclusive SEN School in Colchester. This role offers the opportunity to provide individualized support to a student, helping them achieve their full potential in a supportive environment.
The Role:
As an LSA 1:1, you will work closely with one student who requires additional support due to their specific learning needs. You will assist them both inside and outside the classroom, helping with their academic, social, and emotional development.
Key Responsibilities of the LSA 1:1:
* Provide 1:1 support to a student with special educational needs, helping them access the curriculum.
* Assist with implementing the student’s Individual Education Plan (IEP), working alongside the class teacher and SENCO.
* Help the student stay engaged and focused during lessons.
* Support the student in developing their social and communication skills.
* Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages the student’s confidence and independence.
* Monitor and report on the student’s progress to ensure they are receiving appropriate support.
Essential Requirements of the LSA 1:1:
* Previous experience working as an LSA or in a similar support role is desirable.
* Experience working with children or young people with special educational needs.
* Patience, empathy, and a genuine desire to support the individual needs of students.
* Strong communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
* A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, with a requirement for an enhanced DBS check.
