Hours of work: 32 hours split into 3 one and a half hour slots daily, to be split between the PAs

Rate of pay: £12 per hour

The service user is a gentleman needing assistance with his personal care and isolation, he has problems with memory. The hours are such to allow some social intervention as well as dealing with his personal care needs
He will need support with preparing meals, snacks. And drinks when on duty and along with these tasks the personal assistant is required to provide companionship and support within his own home and assist him to socialise in the community.
Main tasks/activities
• To provide a level of personal care that will support the service user to wash and shower independently and provide some companionship at home assist with daily living tasks to ensure the client is comfortable.
• Reminding to take medications.
• To engage in conversation and encourage activities for socialisation
• To ensure the health and safety of the individual at all times
• To assist the employer in maintaining a healthy environment.
• To carry out any other reasonable requests that the service user may make from time to time.

If requested by the employer, two satisfactory references must be provided. This post is subject to a trial period of 1 month and a probationary period of up to 6 months.
Wages will be paid in arrears on a 4 weekly basis once a valid National Insurance (NI) number has been provided. You must be eligible to work in the UK and your employer will conduct document checks prior to commencement.
You will receive the appropriate annual leave entitlement as well as all other statutory entitlements, details of which will be set out in your contract of employment. You will also be issued with a Personal Assistants Handbook when your employment commences.
You will be expected to undertake any mandatory training identified as relevant to this post. The cost of mandatory training will be met through the direct payment. Failure to attend mandatory training may result in your employment offer being withdrawn.
