Are you ready to build the foundation of data-driven decision-making at Virgin Atlantic? As an Analyst - BI & Data Modelling, you will develop and maintain robust data models that support BI reporting needs, optimizing them for performance and scalability while ensuring seamless integration with existing data architecture.
In this role, you will create and maintain BI reports and dashboards, using best practices in data visualization to deliver clear and actionable insights that align with established standards and templates. Working closely with the Manager - BI & Analytics Delivery and Managers - BI & Reporting, you will ensure data models and reporting initiatives are aligned with BI strategy and contribute to the development of BI governance policies.
Your technical expertise will be vital as you provide guidance and support to spoke analysts on data modelling and reporting, leading training sessions and workshops to enhance their skills and ensuring effective use of BI tools and technologies. Committed to maintaining high data quality and accuracy, you will document data models, definitions, and reporting processes comprehensively, conducting regular reviews and updates to keep data relevant and reliable.

Day to day
* Develop and maintain data models to support BI reporting needs, ensuring performance and scalability.
* Collaborate with data engineers to integrate data models with existing data architecture.
* Create and maintain BI reports and dashboards based on business requirements, using best practices in data visualization.
* Ensure reports and dashboards align with established standards and templates.
* Work closely with BI & Reporting Managers to align data models and reporting initiatives with BI strategies.
* Support the development of BI strategies and governance policies.
* Provide input on best practices for data modelling and reporting across teams.
* Offer technical support and guidance to spoke analysts on data modelling and reporting.
* Conduct training sessions and workshops to enhance the skills of spoke analysts in BI tools and technologies.
* Ensure high data quality and accuracy in data models and reports, with clear and comprehensive documentation.
About you
* Experience in data modelling, BI reporting, data analysis or a related field.
* Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Analytics, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
* Proven expertise in developing and maintaining data models optimized for performance and scalability.
* Strong proficiency in SQL scripting & data visualization tools and technologies such as Power BI, Tableau, or similar platforms, with a track record of creating high-quality reports and dashboards. Hands-on with Databricks is a bonus.
* Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to provide technical support and training to analysts, work effectively with cross-functional teams, and ensure high data quality and accurate documentation.
