Senior Procurement Buyer Location: Swindon (Hybrid Working – 3 days on-site per week) Salary: Up to £40K (Bonus of up to 15%, target of 8%) Join a well-established organisation in the retail industry. We are excited to offer an opportunity for a Senior Procurement Buyer to become a key part of our Group Procurement team at our Support Centre in Swindon. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic environment and is committed to delivering high standards through effective procurement strategies. Responsibilities: Rationalise and develop the supplier base, incorporating UK, European, and International sourcing strategies. Plan and organise categories both tactically and strategically to optimise total value. Manage the end-to-end tender process (RFI/RFP) and support regular contract review processes. Lead small projects and contract negotiations/renewals. Support tender and negotiations for medium and large contracts. Deliver cost reduction, risk mitigation, and control of annual category spend across WHSmith. Provide commercial, contractual, and negotiation support to stakeholders throughout the business. Manage contractual relationships with suppliers during the contracting process. Required Skills & Qualifications: Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a procurement role with similar responsibilities. Preferable experience in indirect category management. Strong commercial acumen with the ability to prioritise and operate under pressure to meet tight deadlines. Proficient in analysis with a high level of attention to detail. Skilled in commercial contract negotiation and contract law. Excellent influencing skills at all levels, capable of establishing strong working relationships both internally and externally.
