The Planning and Performance Department is advertising a great opportunity to build on your data analysis skills and to contribute to the development of a growing range of innovative Business Intelligence solutions to enhance informed planning and decision making at the University.
The Department provides information, insight and analysis to support evidenced-based decision making on institutional-wide strategy and planning. You will work across the University providing planning and analytical support to senior members of the department. As the lead system administrator and analyst for the University’s Workload Allocation Management System (WAMS), you will work collaboratively across organisational boundaries with colleagues in Academic Schools and Professional Service Departments. The position requires examining and interpreting data from various sources, creating reports and briefings, and writing and revising policy documents.
To succeed in this role, you will have:
1. Experience in system administration writing and providing guidance materials, undertaking complex analysis and producing insights and reports.
2. Experience of applying quantitative techniques and analysis to complex data sets presenting the findings with confidence to a range of audiences.
3. Experience in building constructive working relationships and engaging with colleagues; with strong communication skills, including the ability to explain sophisticated issues in non-technical language in a way that engages, informs and drives decision-making.
4. Highly developed analytical skills with a strong eye for detail and ability to communicate complex information.
5. Excellent IT skills and experience of using the full Microsoft Office package, including advanced use of Excel.
6. Experience of working to tight deadlines and to manage changes of priority and schedule.
7. Excellent organisational and prioritisation skills.
