Electrical Harness Maintenance Technician

As the Electrical Harness Maintenance Technician, your role will vary day-to-day and you will be working as part of a multi-disciplinary skills team to develop, test and validate hybrid systems.
Essential Skills
1. Experience in Electronics / Electrical engineering
2. Experience building harnesses (preferred)
3. Must be able to read and create basic electrical drawings and schematics
4. Computer literate (Microsoft software and specific to electrical drawings)
5. PLC programming will be an advantage / understanding of logic-based function
6. Hands-on experience in wiring / cabling from drawings or from experience
7. Hybrid system knowledge will be an advantage
8. Troubleshooting of electrical system
9. Able to use basic hand tools such as soldering equipment / gripping tools / wiring tools
10. Able to make basic mechanical components by use standard machine (lathe, etc.)
Main Duties
11. Modification of automotive harness or similar electrical systems to customer specifications
12. Wiring of test rigs / core engine / test chambers or similar systems / equipment
13. Monitor and record data for on-going tests
14. Troubleshooting of electrical / electronic systems
15. Development of electrical system to support development activity
16. Creation of electrical documentations
17. General maintenance activities on test rigs / equipment (Mechanical / Electrical)
18. Supporting various equipment and product / system installation
Entry
19. NVQ / BTEC qualification or above
Training
20. Any required training will be given both on the job and via any specialised courses. You will work as part of a team, which includes highly experienced and sociable engineers.
Hours & Environment
38 hours a week, Monday to Thursday 8.30am to 5.30pm (30-minute lunch) Friday 8.30am to 12.30pm
