The Education People are looking for a Young Peoples Participation Officer to focus on tracking and supporting young people aged 16-18 across Kent to ensure they are engaged in education, employment, or training. You’ll be making a real difference by helping young people navigate their future pathways and connecting them to essential support services. Due to the nature of work being carried out, an Enhanced DBS check (provided by the Company) will be carried out, please consider this before submitting your application. What You’ll Achieve: As Young Peoples Participation Officer you will: Contact young people aged 16-18 to gather and accurately record their education or employment status on the Client Caseload Information System (CCIS), ensuring the Local Authority meets its statutory duties Help the NEET Support Service by maintaining contact with young people who are not in education, employment, or training, ensuring they receive the support they need Develop strong relationships with schools and colleges to ensure smooth data sharing, timely updates, and the successful tracking of young people across Kent Work towards performance targets set by the Skills and Employability Service Lead and Young Person’s Participation Supervisor, ensuring that Kent County Council meets its monthly returns to the Department for Education (DfE) Assist in the management and upkeep of the Kent Choices website, offering guidance to young people and parents on how to navigate the site and make online applications for education, training, and employment opportunities What we Offer: 25 days holiday (FTE) Cycle to work scheme Life assurance cover Access to Kent Rewards A culture of progression and development Flexible working arrangements What We Require: Previous experience working in an office based customer service role Excellent communication skills and a confident telephone manner Working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages, particularly Excel Ability to develop and maintain professional relationships with schools, colleges, and other stakeholders.
