The role
As the Senior Wedding & Events Coordinator, along with the Events Sales Manager, you will be responsible for growing the events and accommodation business within corporate, social, and wedding markets. You will be responsible for selling the venue through personal selling, proactive business development presentations, and raising the reputation of the venue.
Key Responsibilities:
1. To ensure all telephone, personal, and written enquiries are dealt with promptly, in a friendly manner and in line with Company Standards.
2. Handle a variety of event enquiries ranging from professional meetings to private functions and weddings.
3. Manage the upcoming business on the books and support the coordinator.
4. Maintain a warm, personable nature, a can-do attitude, and an exceptional eye for detail.
5. Be confident, enjoy client relationship building, and have clear planning and organisational skills.
6. Be passionate, driven, and focused on achieving optimum results with a proactive approach to your work.
7. Possess excellent communication skills, both written and spoken.
8. Balance multiple activities with demanding timescales in an environment that is often reactive and requires immediate attention.
9. Attend and host Wedding Open Days/Evenings throughout the year and attend Wedding Fayres on behalf of the company.
10. Deputise for the Event Sales Manager in their absence, ensuring weekly sales records are recorded and distributed.
11. Take an active role in converting wedding enquiries into confirmed sales while understanding package allocations and scope to add benefits to secure bookings.
12. Manage the sales office efficiently and timely, ensuring function sheets are distributed and general office management is maintained.
13. Ensure all events are confirmed with all relevant final details obtained, deposits processed, and relevant documentation sent to clients and communicated to the rest of the hotel.
14. Actively convert customer enquiries into confirmed sales to develop future and repeat business, contributing to the profitability of the hotel.
15. Work flexible hours over 7 days to meet the demands of the business.
16. Previous hotel experience is preferred, along with knowledge of Opera & Thynk, although full training will be given to the right candidate.
