An exciting opportunity has arisen for a full-time, confident, positive and enthusiastic person to lead our Data Quality Team & lead the practice IT systems at our busy 7 Partner, training Practice.
The successful candidate will be required to have strong communication and good people skills, with a focus on professionalism and confidentiality, in order to successfully lead our Data Quality Team. Also having an excellent level of IT skills with the ability to troubleshoot IT problems are all essential requirements for this post, making a valuable contribution to the overall performance of the Practice.
Alongside having excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise & manage a busy & varied workload, having an excellent level of attention to detail, and ability to work independently & as part of a team.
Main duties of the job
The Data Quality & IT Lead role is pivotal in achieving the practice QoF & enhanced service specifications for generating practice income, promoting safety and leading the team to maintain quality for the Practice by undertaking searches, audits, managing the practice recall system and updating practice templates as required. Ensuring accuracy of clinical coding in order to capture clinical information to achieve the various contractual specifications. Also ensuring the smooth running of the practice IT systems & implementation of new IT systems ensuring staff are appropriately trained in their use.

Job purpose:
* Responsible to the Business Manager for delivery on the QOF contract and all local and national Enhanced Services.
* To lead & support the data quality team ensuring the provision of good quality data.
* To lead the practice IT systems ensuring smooth delivery of its systems.

Main Responsibilities:
* Responsible for maintaining & ensuring practice achievement of the Quality and Outcome Framework & all Enhanced Service contracts.
* Ensure all items of service, enhanced service claims are made correctly and appropriately within the strict set timeframes.
* Responsible for ensuring any audits & reports are correct for purpose.
* Assist & support the Business Manager where necessary.
* Ensure good quality of data recorded is maintained.
* Carry out searches, audits and recalls as required by the practice.
* Manage, maintain & undertake the monitoring patient call and recall systems for chronic diseases & QOF registers.
* Lead the practice in building SystmOne templates & clinical reports, supporting good clinical care.
* Pro-actively initiate data quality improvement projects.
* Ensure accurate report output.
* Interrogate data for audit purposes.
* Manage & plan work/tasks of the Data Quality Team ensuring agreed deadlines are met, escalating any delays to the Business Manager.
* Provide support & training for the data quality team in developing their skills & expertise.
* Lead the data quality team in preparation for the annual flu fayre & other vaccination campaigns that are required for the practice to deliver.
* Assist & supervise the Data Clerks & Summarisers in order to fulfil their roles.
* Provide overall support to the Data Quality Team.
* Responsible for ensuring the summarising of notes is meeting the required targets & escalating any delays to the Business Manager.
* Undertake summarising of records following the practices processes.
* Ensure the efficient running of the Practice IT systems.
* Responsible for the implementation of new IT systems ensuring staff are appropriately trained in their use.
* Provide support and advice to staff members undertaking IT trouble shooting role.
* Develop and maintain 3rd party IT systems used by the Practice.
* Induct new starters & carry out training for staff & clinicians on the use of practice IT systems & provide further support where necessary.
* Keep up to date with the latest developments in Primary Care IT & communicating changes to the Business manager.
* Report faults to software suppliers.
* Support and guide members of staff in the use of the computer system.
* Ensure security of data at all times.
* Plan & attend the diabetes & respiratory meetings.
* Chair the Palliative Care meetings.
* Highlight areas for improvement/inaccuracies to the Business Manager.
* Undertake any other additional duties appropriate to the post as requested by the Partners, or Management Team.
