Newcastle Private Hospital is seeking applications from enthusiastic & detail-oriented people leaders with applicable housekeeping experience to join our team as a Housekeeping Manager on a Full-time basis.
You will take pride in your work, have a friendly and positive work attitude and achieving high standards of cleanliness and customer satisfaction, in this fast-paced and varied environment.
To be successful in the role you will have excellent customer service skills, proven leadership capabilities and understand the importance of hospital infection control & hygiene standards. This is a hands-on role and successful applicants will be expected to assist on the floor as required.
As a Housekeeping Manager, your responsibilities will include:
1. Supervise day-to-day cleaning of patient rooms and public areas.
2. Manage rostering, staffing, stock, departmental budgets and supervision of the housekeeping team.
3. Ensuring a safe working environment for staff, doctors, visitors & patients.
4. Management of linen, chemicals, waste, & associated contracts, suppliers and contractors.
5. Ensure policies, procedures and safe work practices are upheld as per standards set out by Infection Control and WHS guidelines.
6. Conducting cleaning and Infection Control audits.
Minimum Requirements:
1. Minimum of 3 years’ management or supervisory experience within a hospital or hotel housekeeping/environmental services department.
2. Proven leadership skills.
3. Previous experience and proven competency in infection prevention and control.
4. Previous experience in a hospital environment is desirable.
5. Demonstrated experience in staff supervision and rostering.
6. Proven organisational and time management skills.
7. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

You will also be required to provide proof of immunity to specified infectious diseases as a Category A Healthcare worker under NSW Health Policy “Occupational Assessment, Screening and Vaccination Against Specified Infectious Diseases”. If successful in the role you will receive a salary range of between $78,000 & $81,000 per annum.
