Wehave an exciting opportunity for a neuropsychologist at 8b to take a lead in psychologicalinterventions in our neuropsychology pathways in Worcestershire, working acrossa range of conditions including ABI and neurodegenerative disease. The post isup to 4 days. They will support the development of a matched care approach with an emphasis onmulti-disciplinary working and psychological consultation. They will havesubstantial experience in the use and interpretation of neuropsychological andpsychological assessments, MDT working, specialist delivery of psychological,vocational and neuropsychological interventions as well as supervision,consultation, teaching and training. Thepsychology team is very supportive and has lots of development opportunities. Main duties of the job
1. Providingneuropsychological assessments and interventions for people with acquired and neurodegenerative brain injury, including FND, and their families and contributing to aculture of support and collaboration both in the service and with partner. Interventions may involve family members andcarers and include liaison and consultation.
2. Activecontribution to MDTs: providing case discussion and care planning with anemphasis on sharing biopsychosocial formulations and evidence basedinterventions
3. Contributingto audit, research and service development
4. Providingformal and adhoc supervision to other staff, including trainees as well asproviding teaching and learning opportunities.
5. Providing clinicalexpertise and leadership in the psychological and cognitive needs of peoplefollowing a stroke and ABI and their families and contributing to a culture ofsupport and collaboration both in the service and with partner agencies.

Qualifications

9. BSc/BA Honours degree at 2:1 or above in Psychology
10. Post-graduate Doctorate in Clinical or Counselling Psychology (or its equivalent for those trained prior to 1996) as accredited by the British Psychological Society (BPS)
11. Post qualification training/ experience in specific, evidence-based techniques for use with clients with complex psychological presentations and/ or physical health difficulties, across the age span
12. Evidence of regular further professional training and experience as required by the Health and Care Professions Council and the BPS
13. Eligible for registration as a Chartered Clinical or Counselling Psychologist by the BPS
14. Eligible for registration as a Full Divisional Member of the BPS Division of Neuropsychology.
15. Eligible for registration as a Practitioner member of the BPS Division of Clinical Psychology
16. Registered with Health and Care Professions Council as a Clinical Psychologist
17. I understand that I will be asked to provide original certificates to verify my qualifications at point of offer
Experience

18. A minimum of 4 years of experience working as a qualified Clinical Psychologist within the specified service area
19. Experience of leading in relation to the development and organisation of psychological interventions within a given clinical area
20. Sufficient training and experience to be recognised by the Division of Neuropsychology as a suitably qualified psychologist to offer clinical placements to trainee Psychologists
21. Training and experience in the application of neuropsychological knowledge across a range of presentations, including organic illness, functional mental health, and physical health
22. Experience of assessing and providing a wide range of psychological interventions to patients presenting with the full degree of clinical severity and across a range of clinical mental health presentations across the life span and care settings
23. Has worked as a Chartered Psychologist within this specified service area
24. Experience of multi-agency/multidisciplinary working
25. Therapeutic expertise in working with carers/ families/couples
26. Experience of conducting clinically relevant research
