We are currently recruiting a number of Machine Tool Service Engineers to join an industry leading business involved in support of machine tool systems. This successful candidate will be required to install, integrate, service and repair CNC Machine Tools and associated systems at customer sites across the UK, covering all aspects of both mechanical and electrical work. Interested candidates will ideally be time served with a strong mechanical or electrical background and working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems. Demonstrable experience working with machine tools is a must – experience with Okuma Systems is advantageous. Candidates will ideally also have strong working knowledge of CNC Controls (Fanuc ideally). Candidates will be required to travel to sites across the UK; therefore, a full UK clean driving license is required. Work may also be required overseas; therefore, a UK passport will also be needed. Hours - Monday - Friday 37.5 hours basic + all OT paid at premium rates.
Role Description
* Install, service, and repair multiple axis CNC Machine tools at customer sites following drawings, manufacturer’s instructions and customer specifications, utilising knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical machinery.
* Operate equipment/machinery through installation and commissioning to ensure that performance, quality and rate of running meet specifications.
* Train customer personnel on maintaining, adjusting and repairing equipment/machinery.
* Repair worn or defective equipment/machinery.
* Fault-find and diagnose equipment set-up and process issues; undertake troubleshooting on customer sites and internally.
* Work on equipment/machinery refurbishments, re-tools and refits where necessary.
* Document all inspections, maintenance and repair work, plus fault finding and diagnostics.
* Gather market intelligence and identify opportunities for promoting additional services/spare part sales etc. when working at customer sites.
* Maintain tools and test equipment in good condition; organise self in line with lean manufacturing principles, 5S standards etc.
Qualifications / Skills
* Time Served Engineer - NVQ level 3/ HNC/ HND qualified in a mechanical or electrical discipline.
* Demonstrable experience working in a similar role.
* Experience working on multiple axis machine tools.
* Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics and control systems for CNC machinery.
